I was told such by a friend today.
Got me thinking...

Well. Things were like this.
I've been doing rough sketches (I mean, really rough) just for the fun of it.
So after I finish these sketches, I don't feel like keeping them. Upon which, I turn to people around me, "Hey, you want this?". Although usually, the response is 'no'. (Though this is beside the point.)

So my friend tells me, "You should have more respect for your own work."
That set me thinking.

Was I really not giving respect to my work by just passing them off?
I don't know actually. I mean, they were just done on a whim?

I recall around a year back, when started really drawing for real and my pieces weren't really much to look at. Every piece I drew decently was treasure enough for me to put up in a frame, though when I look back now, I wouldn't even hold those pieces against my rough sketches.
And I wonder. Why have I become so easy with my sketches as compared to the previous year?
Is it because I have lost the respect for the effort that I put in to my work?
Is it because I have don't feel any attachment to my sketches anymore?

Well. When I believe that I treasured the pieces more before was probably due to the fear that I couldn't do something like that again. Now, however, when I look back, I think to myself, 'Was it the fear that real?'

I don't know if she meant it in this way, perhaps.
But this are my thoughts on it.
